The role
Teach what you love. Become a Camp Counselor.
You’ll be supervising and living in a bunk with the campers. Throughout the day you will teach activities and supervise your group throughout their fun packed schedule.
Your role is to ensure that campers are engaged and having fun as well as maintaining a safe, healthy camp environment for the children to thrive.
You may also hear the term 'camp trainer' - these two terms mean the same thing, and they're sometimes used interchangeably.
No qualifications needed
Joining a camp in China is your chance to share and grow your skills, from arts to sports, without needing specific qualifications. If you're energetic, positive, and love adventure, you're our perfect match. We'll prepare you well in advance for your journey.
And if you've worked with kids before, that's a big plus.
How is it different?
Chinese camps draw from North American summer camp traditions, yet are transformed by China's unique culture and traditions for a one-of-a-kind experience.
Working alongside local counselors from across China, you'll gain deep cultural insights and forge lasting friendships.
The hours
Adventure China is certainly not your average volunteer role. You'll spend your days hanging out in the great outdoors with your campers and the other counsellors.
There's plenty of time to relax, as each camp will make sure you've got time off during the day. You'll get at least one 24 hour period off per week - and some camps provide the entire weekend off.
Summer camp activities
Our partner summer camps in China offer a wide range of activities, and need people with skills to teach them. Share your talents, whether in sports, arts, or anything fun, and help campers try new things in a lively, supportive setting.
